Additional guidance to help you edit your tracks, if you need to

Review the following guidance to help you edit your songs

In this guide, we'll go over the basics of editing tracks in music software, whether they’re from the Track Library or your own recordings.

Below you can find some instructions for basic edits you can make to your tracks. The examples are given in GarageBand, a free program for Apple computers. If you’re using a program besides GarageBand, the basic principles outlined in this guide should still apply, but you may need to look up how certain functions work in the software you’re using.

For information about recording your songs in the first place, see the guide for Recording a Song.

Note: If you recorded your audio in Audacity, you can also edit your track there. However, note that Audacity is limited to audio recordings, and cannot handle other types of data that other programs like GarageBand can (like MIDI).
